TEAM BALDWIN MOTORSPORTS/KAWASAKI'S CLOSES IN ON TOP FIVE AT INDIANA WPSA

Round 8 of the WPSA ATV Tour was held this past weekend in Rossville, Indiana. Team Baldwin Motorsports/Kawasaki's Josh Upperman was aiming for better his best finish of the year in the Pro class and Mark Kendall was aiming continue on his win streak. The WPSA ATV Series has a three moto format. The first two races are used to determine qualifying position and the main event determines the final finishing order.

Baldwin Motorsports/Kawasaki's Mark Kendall was hot off a win at the last event. In Saturday's first qualifier, Kendall came off the start in second. Dustin Royer grabbed the holeshot. Halfway through the first lap, Kendall and Royer were in a tight battle when Royer hit a mud rut and came to a dead stop. Kendall was directly behind Royer and hit him hard enough to knock him out of the mud but then became stuck himself. He had to get off his quad and pull it out. He remounted and rode hard to move up to fourth place by the checkers. In the second qualifier, Kendall got off to a second place start behind Josh Williams. Soon after, Kendall passed Williams to take the win

In Sunday's Pro-Am main event, Greg Gee grabbed the holeshot followed by Robert Ross, Cody Miller, and Josh Williams. Kendall came off the line in 18th place. A first corner incident allowed Kendall to move from 18th to 5th place quickly. Miller passed Ross to take over second position. Kendall then passed Williams on lap four for fourth. A few corners later, Williams went into the whoop section too hot and got out of control into Kendall. Kendall's quad was severely damaged, but Kendall rode out the moto in an attempt to salvage some points. He was able to move from 16th position back up to 12th. Gee went on to take the win and Miller and Ross rounded out the podium.

Kendall is currently in third place in the series points chase behind Miller and Gee.
