KTM'S TIM FARR GRABS ANOTHER WIN AT TRI-CITY EDT AND WRAPS UP CHAMPIONSHIP EARLY

KTM's Tim Farr extended his win streak this past weekend at round seven of the ATVA Extreme Dirt Track Series in Franklin, Pennsylvania. The Tri-City Speedway track was very high speed this year as they used the straightaway and turns one and two on the track. Two technical option lanes fed the riders into the infield for several high speed passes and an option lane back onto the straightaway.

The weather report for the weekend called for rain showers both Saturday and Sunday, but the rain held off throughout the day on Saturday until late afternoon. The dark clouds began to roll in and the "Pro Show" was moved forward in an attempt to get it in before the rain.

Reigning Pro ATV Champion, Tim Farr, received last pick on the line for his heat race. Farr picked the far inside rather than the far outside starting spot. Off the start, Farr was in fourth place going into turn one. He quickly made a pass in the sweeper for third. On the next lap, Farr took the option lane once again and take over second position. Farr then set his sights on Aaron Reisig in the lead, but time ran out. Farr had to settle for second.

As Farr headed to the staging area for his main event, the rain began to fall. Luckily, it did not last long and the track crew was able to get the track back into shape quickly. The riders lined up again and the light turned green for the main event. Darin Ogden grabbed the holeshot. He was followed by Bryon Partee and Farr. Light rain again fell on the track. Farr followed Partee for several laps before he was able to make the pass coming out of the first option lane. Meanwhile, Ogden had built up quite a lead. It appeared that the gap was too large to overcome, but Farr settled in to the track and began a hard charge. To everyone's surprise, Farr cut Ogden's lead in half in one lap. On the next lap, Farr moved up on Ogden's rear bumper. Farr tried the option lane coming out onto straightaway a few times, but it wasn't quite enough. Farr then decided to pressure Ogden and followed his every line. With about five laps remaining, Farr made his move. He took the option lane coming out of turn two. The two appeared to be side by side as the lanes narrowed back into one. Farr held it on just a bit longer and grabbed the inside line to take over the lead. The constant light rain had made the track quite tricky to maneuver. Farr stretched out his lead to take his fifth consecutive win.

Farr's win secured the Championship one round early. Congratulations to Farr and KTM who have earned their second Championship of the year on the new Sport ATV!
