(N. Kingsville, OH) Holeshot, quad set-up and contending with a brutal track would be the key for a successful weekend. When the gate drops for the AMA PRO ATV motos’ you will always be amazed at the speed the twenty fastest ATV riders in the world produce. This is the one of the most crucial parts of the race, just ask any rider. With Josh in mid-pack after several laps, making passes when available and time running out Upperman would have to settle for the 8th position in moto one.
With the start of moto two and eighth gate pick of the line Josh would once again find himself in the center of the group coming off the first turn. Unlike the first moto, the second moto track had changed tremendously. With little maintenance, to the track and all the competition going on before the start of the second moto the track had become physically brutal to any racer and would test both rider and quad. Due to poor track conditions and issues with the quad Josh would find himself racing safe not wanting to make a mistake and to just finish the race. When the checkers flew Upperman would be scored in the fourteenth position for a twelfth place overall for the weekend.
